Sunrize Tea | Tea Review

Happy Tuesday! Coming at you with another tea review to brighten up your day (with a little Sunrize?? I think I am funny too) Sunrize tea is a tea company that wants to make great tea accessible by everyone! Their founder and owner Anya is super sweet and sent me 6 teas: Dancers in Peachy Pink, Vanilla Earl Grey Escape, Pumpkin Spice, Strawberry Lemon Sunburst, Peachy Lychee Paradise, and Balanced Goddess. Pssttt…They also gave me a coupon code “TEAANDME10” for your guys to get 10% off! Here are my thoughts on the different teas:

Analyzation of the Teas:

Dancers in Peachy Pink: This tea was quite interesting and lovely, and is dubbed by my mom and I, as the tea that tastes like a natural juice. We could not get enough of this tea. I ended up using the entire sample to make a whole pot, which was risky I know. This means I only had one shot to review it! The aroma of the tea actually reminded me of a sweet wine that I recently purchased, kind of fruity with a hint of natural tannins. I could really taste the hibiscus and sweetness of the pineapple, but I was not really able to taste that much of the peaches. I still enjoyed every drop of this tea. It immediately brewed a bright reddish pink color and was so beautiful. We ended up trying to go for a second steeping which turned into a much paler and lighter pink tea. The taste of the second steeping was much milder and kind of tasted like strawberry water.

Ingredients: Peaches, Pineapple, Papaya, Rosehips, Hibiscus, Spearmint, Lemonbalm

Vanilla Earl Grey Escape: I love a good Earl Grey Tea, but they are also the teas that I am most picky about. This tea smelled absolutely divine as it was steeping, exactly that of bergamot. This will probably be one of my top earl grey teas that I have tasted, which I think is also due to the addition of the vanilla. I made a small pot for me and my mom. She was very impressed by the smell and taste like I was (she is also fairly picky about her earl grey teas). The only complaint I have is the use of natural flavors, which everyone knows that I always point them out. I gave my brother a small sample of this tea for him to take to work. He ended up coming back to me asking for me because he liked it so much!

Ingredients: Select Organic Black Teas, Organic Cornflower, Natural Flavors, Bergamot Oil

Pumpkin Spice: I measured out my teaspoon of this tea and steeped it as I always do, but I was a bit sad that this tea was rather weak for the first brew. It tasted like lightly spiced hot water, which is not what it was supposed to taste (I will assume). I will have to revisit this tea and brew it slightly stronger. Alright, try 2 in the works. I ended up putting more leaves in for a stronger brew and this tea might just be one that does not brew very strongly. I was disappointed, as the result was that of spiced water again even though I used more leaves. I think out of all of the teas, this one was my least favorite and could use more of a pumpkin taste. They definitely nailed the spice part but it needs to come together as a more coherent taste.

Ingredients: Organic Black Tea, Organic Orange Peel, Organic Cinnamon, Organic Clove, Organic Ginger Room, Natural Hot Cinnamon Flavor

Strawberry Lemon Sunburst: This tea was definitely a highlight of the variety. It tasted a lot like an herbal blend with a nice kick of caffeine, which is a really cool mix. I was surprised that I could not really taste the black tea that much. The lemongrass dominated the taste of the tea, but there were underlying berry tastes that were quite pleasant to try. I absolutely love any tea with Lemongrass in it, honestly just makes the entire tea for me. The natural flavors were not super evident in the tea, which is preferable to me if they have to be added in the tea. I will definitely enjoy this tea until it is all gone!

Ingredients: Ceylon Black Tea, Strawberries, Lemongrass, Organic Strawberry & Elderberry Flavor

Peachy Lychee Paradise: This tea was quite surprising and enjoyable. Again, I do wish that I tasted the black tea a little bit more, but the overall taste of the tea was quite pleasing and delicious. The overall aroma when brewing is quite sweet and delicate and the sweet smell does transfer over to a sweeter taste. I could not tell as well that there were natural flavors present in the tea, which is preferable to me. It is a fairly delicate taste, with an extremely subtle sweetness and smooth finish to it. I think out of the other teas, it was one that was slightly lacking comparatively as it was slightly weaker in taste and cohesiveness. Still a lovely brew though, just compared to the others, was not as strong and powerful of a tea.

Ingredients: Select Black Teas, Organic Safflower, Natural Flavor

Balanced Goddess: This was quite the mellow and relaxing blend. I could mostly taste the Rooibos, Lavender, and Rose. There was a soothing quality to the blend along with smoothness evident when drinking. Smoothness doesn’t even totally describe the feel of this tea, it was almost a pillowy feeling in your mouth. Very odd to describe but very good! The smell was heavenly, again a combination of rooibos and lavender. I was not sure what the natural flavors were in this tea, but I did not think it was super needed! I did actually feel quite balanced when drinking this tea though, and it made my taste buds absolutely dance! I do wish I could have tasted a tiny bit more hibiscus, but it was possible that when scooping out the tea I had less hibiscus in the leaves. That is the fun of loose leaf tea!

Ingredients: Organic Green Rooibos, Organic Fennel Seed, Organic Hibiscus, Chrysanthemum Blossoms, Organic Rose Petal, Organic Shatavari, Organic Lavender, Natural Flavor

Analyzation of the Price:

The teas involved in this review range from $13 – $22 for a 3-ounce kraft pouch of loose leaf tea. I think all of these teas are very nice quality, and well worth the price for the amount that you get. They also offer sampler sets (which is the quantity of tea that I received) that allow you to try 2-3 cups of their tea before buying a larger version of the tea. Also, you can use “TEAANDME10” for 10% off of your teas!!!

Analyzation of the Packaging:

The packaging of the tea was very nice quality, I always love the aesthetic of the open plastic window to see the tea leaves. I also could not really smell the tea outside of the packaging, which indicated that I can keep that tea in there for a while. I also liked the tea came in a box that was on brand and had their logo on it!

I hope you guys enjoyed this review.
