Calm | Teatis Tea

Calm | Teatis Tea

Tranquility. Calm. All the things I could use in my life right now. As graduation approaches, I am more stressed than ever with more projects and homework piling on in addition to work continuing to pick up. So, this tea spoke to me on many different levels. Teatis Tea is a brand that packs a secret ingredient in its tea, arame seaweed…yes…seaweed. Arame Seaweed is considered a natural detox, has sustainable production, and no taste (in the form that they put in the tea).

Teatis sent me one of their powder teas, Calm. This tea powder is highly recommended to be used in a latte form. I, of course, had to try it in latte form but also in an all-natural form to see why they recommended it. (Which I would not really recommend you do unless you love the last of extremely spicy and strong tea) But, this powder was excellent in latte form, both hot and cold. I liked that the almond milk really calmed down some of the strength of the powder, but let the little “sting” that ginger and turmeric have still be apparent in every sip.

I first tried it in a hot latte form (recipe down below), which is probably my favorite way to drink a latte. It also made me very…calm. The warmth just really filled me up while the sting of the ginger calmed my throat. The cold latte version was much more subdued, with it being a bit spicy but very tamed down ( I think I added too much almond milk and not enough honey). I definitely will be pushing this through my tea routines, as it was a great break and addition to my tea collection. Plus, many teas that include turmeric are not necessarily my favorite, but this tea had a great balance of spiciness from the turmeric and ginger. I did get a bit calmer after drinking both the hot and cold version.

I absolutely loved the packaging. It concealed all of the strong aromas from the turmeric and ginger. The branding was what made me actually love this the most, it had subtle seaweed designs on it with a fun color palate.

Calm Turmeric Latte

(Scroll down to the Instagram Post to see the full video!)

● 1 cup Almond Milk
● 1 1/2 tsp Calm Powder
● 1/4 cup boiling water
● 1 tbsp Honey (and some to drizzle)

  1. Boil some water.
  2. Measure out your almond milk and heat it in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds.
  3. While that is heating up, measure out turmeric mixture and combine with water (mix together until evenly mixed).
  4. Froth your almond milk and add a tiny bit of honey.
  5. Grab your mug and then combine the frothed almond milk with the turmeric part.
  6. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with turmeric or cinnamon

Warning: Turmeric stains anything it really touches, so I would recommend a glass mug and using an electronic whisk instead of a matcha whisk. (Also no matter how much I edit the code for this Instagram insert, I cannot center the below post!!)
