Steep. Sleep. Repeat. | Starr’s Botanical Sips

Starr’s Botanical Sips is a US tea company that works to provide a healthy beverage that consumers can bring to their daily routine. This company was founded by Tasharri, a certified master herbalist, who wanted to bring her love to tea to others who want to introduce a healthier alternative to their lifestyle. They sent me their Sleep blend, which was the absolute perfect match for me. Here are my thoughts:

Sleep

Over the years of drinking tea and finding out what my likes/dislikes are, I have discovered what works on me and what does not in regards to herbal teas. Meaning, just chamomile tea does not normally help me sleep, but add in a bit of valerian root and it will knock me out. So, when I talked to Starr’s Botanical Sips about their blends, I was very excited to try their Sleep Blend.

The aroma is very reminiscent of a herbal supplement like tea, with herbal notes and chamomile sticking out to me. The taste was very chamomile and valerian root focused, tasting again very herbally but not in a bad way. The chamomile does bring a bit of natural sweetness into the tea, but that is really only evident when the tea is much cooler.

There is something soothing and comforting about this tea. It reminds me of a similar blend that I often consume that has allowed me to get great amounts of sleep. For the first time in a while, I am able to get more than 6 hours of sleep every night. In fact, I have consistently been getting 8 hours of sleep (which in itself is amazing). I know that the taste of a more herbal like supplement could be off putting to some people, but I personally have grown to really enjoy over the last few years. I was trying to find different ways of helping myself sleep due to stress (and an almost insomniac nature), and teas like these have been a huge help.

Ingredients: Passionflower, Valerian Root, Hops, Chamomile

Price: The price is $16.50 for 25 tea sachets. The tea sachets do look self-packaged, but that amount of work to make it convenient for using. I think that does add to the price, but I do love this tea and think it is worth the price.

Packaging: The tea comes in a tin, which I have previously stated, is my preferred way of storing teas.

Sourcing: Since the ingredients are herbal, I do not care as much for the sourcing information. Ingredients are 100% organic though.

What do you think about herbal sleep supplements? They are honestly the only ones that I enjoy drinking and can immediately see the benefit of drinking. Let me know in the comments! Happy Brewing!
