Steep Into It | Tea Review

Steep Into It is a US Tea Company with the belief daily health and wellness practices should be easy and enjoyable. They specialize in mushroom extracts and wellness teas. They look to improve and enhance consumer’s everyday routines whether they need more energy, sleep, or looking for better health. They sent me two of their wellness teas, their Smooth Energy (Jasmine Green) and Relax & Unwind Blend. Here are my thoughts:

Smooth Energy – Jasmine Green: I was a little skeptical when I saw that this tea had both jasmine flowers and essence in it, thinking it would be overwhelmingly jasmine. This was not quite the case though. The aroma of this tea was more roasted mixed with floral, but as I sipped on it longer I noticed it being less roasted and more jasmine floral focused. It still was more complex than I imagined. The color of the brewed tea was a nice golden color and was quite clear. The taste was very subtle, gently caressing my tastebuds. I was surprised by how smooth this tea was for green tea, and the lack of astringency. This tea also left lingering floral notes. I think this is one of the better-balanced tea blends, without having any overwhelming jasmine notes take over. As I took small sips, I did notice a comforting feeling come over me with some almost gentle feelings as well. I think that was because this tea was so calming and mild.

Ingredients: Green tea, Jasmine Flowers, Jasmine Essence

Relax & Unwind: The aroma of this tea when I opened the bag was extremely potent, almost like a slap you in the face potent. It was a mix of chamomile, valerian root, and spearmint, which was a typical combination for a night blend. As I brewed the tea, I was able to pick out the lovely chamomile, lavender, and possibly a hint of the lemon balm. It smelled like a typical sleepy tea blend. The color of this tea was fairly herbal-like, which now that I think of it, most relax/sleepy blends really are. The chamomile calls itself out, as well as the valerian root. There was a lingering fresh feeling (almost cooling) after each sip which did help if you drank this tea before bed after brushing your teeth. As the tea cooled down a bit, the chamomile had a bit of lemon come through but it really just blended well. The first night I drank this, I actually did have a bit of difficulty falling asleep (typical for me), but once I was asleep, I was passed out.

Ingredients: Chamomile, Passionflower, Valerian Root, Spearmint, Lemon Balm, Rose Petals, and Lavender

Pricing: Both Smooth Energy and Relax & Unwind tea blends go for $25 for 30 tea bags or $19 for 100 grams of loose leaf tea. If you are interested in trying out their teas, I have a code “DANIELLE15” for 15% off your first purchase and 15% off of their subscriptions.

Packaging: The tea pouches seem fairly good at closing and keeping the aroma in. The zip close was also easy to use. Tea bags are 100% biodegradable with a plant-based mesh! No plastic or adhesives found in most common tea bags.

Sourcing: I did not see any sourcing information available. They do have a few statements about their teas though:

“At Steep Into It, we source our herbs and teas from only the highest quality sources all over the world. We consider the farmers who grow the products we use to be partners in the process of bringing better health to our customers. Oftentimes, the most experienced farmers and wild sources are located outside the U.S., so this is where we source most of our products. Once the raw materials arrive to our processing and packing facilities in the U.S., all products go through a stringent quality assurance and testing process, and all products are organic, so you can be sure you are only receiving the best.”

I feel like the staples in most tea consumer’s stashes are jasmine green and a good sleepytime blend, so I was very happy to try these teas. What are the staples in your stash? Let me know! Happy Brewing!

  1. Dear Tea & Me : I couldn’t agree more with your comments about the teas you sampled … but if you really want to be blown away try the Steep Into It “Daily Detox” herbal tea blend of Dandelion, Milk Thistle, Lemongrass and Ginger.

Great quality and MAD BLENDING SKILLS is what has impressed me the most about all the teas I have tried !
