3 MORE Goat Cheese Crostinis For Your Next Tea Party

Previously in 2020, I wrote an article on “3 Goat Cheese Crostinis for your Next Tea Party” based on some goat cheese crostinis that I created. I have since made them multiple times and have found different tips and tricks that have helped me perfect these little creations. This Easter, I made another three different crostinis to share as an appetizer, and I am using this as another little idea for your next tea party.

Making the Bread Base:
Here is how to make the bread base for all three crostinis. Slice your bread thinly and then in half or get a small baguette. Heat up some olive oil over medium heat in a pan. Once the oil is hot enough (dip the bread in and it will start to sizzle), and drop in as many pieces of bread that can fit into the pan. If you need to do multiple rounds, make sure to replenish the olive oil so you do not burn the bread. The first round of bread usually takes longer than the rest, about 1 minute on each side, whereas the other rounds are about 30 seconds on each side – flipping after the bread is slightly golden. Put the bread to the side on a plate and paper towel, salting immediately after taking them off.

Salmon & Dill

Ingredient List:

  • Bread Base (See Above for Instructions)
  • Block of Goat Cheese
  • Smoked Salmon
  • Fresh Dill
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt

This is an original one I did, and I have kept it around for a long time. After completing your bread base, smear a healthy amount of goat cheese on the top of the bread. Grab a slice (or chunk) of smoked salmon and tenderly place them on top of the goat cheese. Wash your dill and place small sprigs on top. Salt to preference. Drizzle Olive Oil on top. I personally like to pour the olive oil into a spoon to give me more control over how much gets on each crostini. Serve immediately.

Cucumber Dill

Ingredient List:

  • Bread Base (See Above for Instructions)
  • Block of Goat Cheese
  • Cucumber
  • Fresh Dill
  • Sea Salt

After completing the bread base, smear again a healthy amount of goat cheese on the top of the bread. Take a cucumber and either use a mandolin to thinly slice the cucumber or take a knife and thinly slice. Wash your dill and place small sprigs on top of the crostini. Generously add sea salt. A lot of flavor in this one comes from the salt and bread, it really ties together well. Serve immediately.

Tomato Basil

Ingredient List:

  • Bread Base (See Above for Instructions)
  • Block of Goat Cheese
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Fresh Basil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Olive Oil

After completing the bread base, smear again a healthy amount of goat cheese on the top of the bread. On a small cutting board, take your cherry tomatoes and a sharp knife and carefully slice your tomatoes. If you do not have cherry tomatoes, any tomatoes will work as long as sliced small. Once you have cut your tomatoes, place them on top of the goat cheese. Then wash your basil and thinly slice before putting them on top. Immediately salt and pepper. Then apply a small amount of both balsamic vinegar and olive oil to the top. Serve immediately.

One reason why I like these recipes is it allows for quite a bit of versatility with just the original goat cheese instead of the different varieties that I used before. That allows for the entire block to be used instead of only half here and half there. But these were quite the hit at Easter and I plan on making them again quite soon.

What do you think? Would you serve these at your next tea party? Let me know! Happy Brewing!
