Sometimes a tea just absolutely wows you. And that was this one. *gifted for review*

@teaofvietnam is a tea company that specializes in tea from Northern Vietnam from ancient trees. Their tea is produced by the Red Dzao people using traditional methods. What I found interesting were their tea trees. They are calledΒ Shan Tuyet (high-mountain snow tea) and some trees are claimed to be over 300 years old, preserved and worshipped.

I had never had Red Dragon Ya Bao before, in fact, I tried this at night because my silly brain thought this was a tisane. (Definitely had to do a history lesson while drinking this tea). Full review on my blog! Link in bio!
Happy 2 year Blog-iversary! Two years ago, I regi Happy 2 year Blog-iversary!

Two years ago, I registered and built my blog after months of denying that I was ready to take the leap. While the first post came out on the 19th, it was the 18th that I accidentally published my blog, panicked and unpublished, and then moved to WordPress. Blogging simply makes me happy in ways I never expected it to. And this community makes me abundantly happy in ways I never thought it could.

Last year, I did a big giveaway to celebrate 1 year. This year, I want to do something a little different. There are two charities that I love and believe in, and would like to donate to: Compassion Pregnancy Center and the Humane Society. For each like that this post gets, I will give a dollar to one of these charities (splitting the dollar amount between the two).

This year is one that I want to start by giving back. (Just on the off chance this post goes wild, I am capping my donation at $500 total - $250 each.) I will check this post on Friday, January 22nd and write in my donations then.

*side note: this is in no way me trying to "get more likes" on a post. But me trying to do something different to celebrate my 2 year anniversary.*

Here is some info behind my chosen charities, feel free to research yourself. Please be kind with my choices!

Compassion Pregnancy Center: a group/place that supports women who have unplanned pregnancies and let's them know all of their options (yes, all of them) for free with confidentiality.

Humane Society: works to help rescue animals in need and 80% of the donation actually goes towards lifesaving animal protection programs.

I am aiming to make sure to have a private tea session at least 2-3 times a week. My most recent? This lovely 2014 shu pu'erh from @verdanttea that I dabbled into that was given to me from a surprise tea swap with @tiffanydrinkstea .

My tea sessions have increasingly improved from awakening my tea leaves. I never really saw the point before of pre-warming my tea ware, but now I absolutely love doing so. It helps so so much. More morning musings. Also, here is a new piece of pottery that I bought and thought it would be lovely for displaying tea. ☺
Morning Musings: Occasionally, I feel as if I un Morning Musings:

Occasionally, I feel as if I underestimate the power that tea can hold. When used, it can help me focus, help me meditate on issues, or even center me. But the vessel that is used gives me the occasional pause.

Is this tea any less worthy because it was a teabag and comes in a to-go container? I think not. But do I treat it the same as if I was doing a private tea session, I think not. As I sat in this beautiful garden, I drank the tea and looked at the mountain range, birds, and life around me. I was comforted by the tea, no change there, and blissfully sat in peaceful harmony. The tea gave me the same pause and benefits in the to-go container as it does in my gaiwan, so my mindset had to be reset (I have realized).

I will have to admit, I was a bit shameful to even realize that I was treating the vessel as a different experience. I love tea. No matter the container. This seems to be a silly musing, but on four hours of sleep, I guess the mind wanders aimlessly sometimes.
